Fly Fishing in the Amazon River basin

All inclusive fishing trips in the most exclusive and pristine areas of the Amazon Brazil

River Plate Angler´s fishing rights to exclusive areas is the key element to exceptional brazil amazon fly fishing. In cooperation with the authorities River Plate has obtained many exclusive private-water fishing leases over the last two decades, which guarantees your best opportunity for fishing success and directly benefits the communities in the area as well as it helps sustainability of the fishery with a strict catch and release policy.

Thanks to these permits our guests don’t waste time in marginal over-fished waters, due to the high fishing pressure from commercial, survival and sport-fishing as it happens with river areas which are open to the public.

The tropical fresh water fish species of the Amazon Basin are pound for pound arguably the most aggressive, hardest fighting fish on Earth. These acrobatic and colorful jungle species readily take flies and offer unparalleled experiences for the fly fishing angler, both for numbers of fish and size.

When fishing conditions are favorable, peacock bass provide more strikes and fly fishing action than any other species and are arguably the hardest fighting freshwater fish pound for pound—30, 40, 50 fish per day are not uncommon, as well as payara, surubi, corvina, bicuda, pacu and other exotic species.

Fly-In Floating Cabins

The infrastructural aspect that distinguishes our Amazon fly fishing trips is our truly unique and highly mobile, deluxe, air conditioned Fly-In Floating Cabins, introduced in 1996. Due to the roaring success of this lodging concept, we have added five similar, independent cabin facilities!

Drawing only four inches of water, our Fly-In Floating Cabins enable our guests to move on a daily basis to un-fished river segments in air-conditioned comfort and style throughout our exclusive (privately leased) fishing grounds. Our highly mobile, shallow-drafting Fly-In Floating Cabins overcome shallow-water barriers such as sand bars which block the passage of other forms of navigation.

We take our intimate 8–12 guest parties from Manaus directly to our comfortable Fly-In Floating Cabins in charter planes to nearby landing strips. Our guests wake up every morning in their Fly-In Floating Cabin, along a Caribbean-like white-sand beach, next to a remote, virgin lagoon in the heart of the savagely beautiful Amazon rainforest.
